Noise of Art Launches End of WW1 Centenary in Prague

Noise of Art is organising a marathon launch party for events in Prague marking 100 years since the end of World War One – and the creation of the Czech state – with DJs Tom Findlay ( Groove Armada ), Ben Osborne ( Noise of Art ) UK, Angelo Ferreri  ( IT ), Pat Heart, DJ Tráva, Risto, Telly Savalas, Smeghouse, Skeledan, DJ Slater, Scannt, Silhouette and more…

The mega DJ line-up launches a series of events highlighting the music and art that followed WW1, laying the foundation for the first nightclubs and the growth of jazz, avant garde and electronic music in Europe. Get Tickets to LAUNCH PARTY HERE.

Organised by Move Assoc (CZ) , Noise of Art (UK), Instituti Moderni Hudby and Stichting Nederlandse Muziek Export (NL), the series of events is launching with a party headlined by a DJ set from Tom Findlay, of legendary British dance act Groove Armada.

British duo Groove Armada have released eight studio LPs and received three Grammy Awards. This rare Prague appearance will see Tom Findlay play one of his legendary roof-raising DJ sets. Joining him is DJ Ben Osborne, award-winning creative producer, writer and founder of Noise of Art.

Also headlining on the night is celebrated Italian house producer Angelo Ferreri, who was awarded Jackin’ House DJ of 2017 by Traxsource, plus very special guest DJs Trava and Risto and, from French Guyana, Pat Heart – who are joined by the acclaimed CHU? ŽÍT residents Telly Savalas, Smeghouse and Skeledan.

Tonight launches over a month of events marking the birth of modern nightclub culture and the social and artistic legacy of the creative movements that flourished after World War One.

Events run from 29 September to the closing party, with Booka Shade, on 2 December.

Camden Underground presents Chateau Perché Launch Party Prt 1

Celebrating Noise of Art’s debut at France’s hottest new festival, Chateau Perché, Camden Underground hosts the first UK Perché launch party with three of the acts playing this year’s festival.

New seven piece band Monkey Fist draw comparisons with Pigbag or Hot 8 Brass Band, but with added jazz, dub and electronics. The Techno, dub-step duo Scotch Lobster are one of the few acts in the world to play the Eigenharp, a unique electronic instrument that plays like a wind instrument with strings, keys and percussion built-in. Host DJ Ben Osborne is the founder of Noise of Art. The Guardian describes Noise of Art as an “actual cathedral of sound” and Time Out says his sets span “techno, funk, galactic house, deep down and dirty disco and other dancefloor dynamite”.

Chateau Perché (the perching castle) Festival is a new annual festival that moves to a different, always beautiful, castle in France every year. For its fourth year it’s invited Ben Osborne and Noise of Art to do the first UK arena at the festival.

New events in London, Cardiff, Prague and France

This month’s events include music for a new play in Cardiff, DJ sets in Prague and London and on going preparations for Marseilles in July and Chateau Perché in August. Meanwhile, this week sees Ben Osborne play 93 Feet East in Brick Lane on Thursday 29 March, as Salad Undressed (aka Salad) launch their LP. Camden underground returns to The Constitution, on the canal in the Camden/ Kings Cross hinterlands, on Good Friday. And DJ Ben Osborne will be collaborating at the Royal Welsh College of Drama and Music with playwright Sophie Rashbrook and director Polly Graham, on the soundtrack for Sophie’s new play Ralph – Enemy Alien, with workshop performances in Wales and London in early April.

Ben Osborne will also return to Prague’s Cross club on Saturday 21 April, in the lead up to a series of events there later this year.

Friday 4 May also sees the launch of Vors Sprung, a new live electronic project, with A Man Called Adam, Orka, Ben 0 & Maella and Sorrdes playing live.

With London NYE dates being announced today, here’s a quick heads-up for our friends in Prague, where Noise of Art founder Ben Osborne will be DJing the first weekend of 2018.

Prague’s Cross Club kicks off the first Saturday of 2018 with Ben Osborne (Noise of Art, London) and Tyrll (Gullegem) joining residents Taino and Jesse, spinning house, techno and disco and the odd bit of London bass. Ben Osborne is also being joined by fast rising Czech singer Maella, to perform a live version  of their new collaboration, Break Me.

Fifty years ago Camden hosted one of the UK’s first electronic music festivals. To  start celebrating this anniversary, Noise of Art’s invited the legendary electronic pioneers, Radiophonic Workshop, to headline a special show at Convergence Festival

They’re joined by innovator, DJ and producer Andrew Weatherall, as well as White Noise, the band behind the groundbreaking 1969 LP, An Electric Storm. White Noise’s members were also present at the 1967 event.

Completing the line up are Nordic Grammy winning act Orka, who’ll perform in collaboration with DJ Ben Osborne.

The Convergence event is Produced by Convergence Festival, Noise of Art and Bluedot.

Noise of Art launches 2015 activity and Boom Room 13-16 March

Boom Room #1 - nuclear airforce base

Noise of Art launches into its tenth year of activity with a series of events in and around London’s Convergence Festival. The events, two in conversation sessions and three gigs, take place 13 March – 16 March in London.

Noise of Art’s Boom Room project is inspired by the role sound manipulation has played in electronic music. It will be turning unusual locations and buildings into musical effects units to be used live – starting with a disused nuclear airforce base at Benwaters and the Adnams brewery in Southwold.

The line up includes: Andrew Weatherall, Mental Overdrive, White Noise, Bernard Szajner (aka Z), Saycet (Paris), Ben Osborne, Eat Lights Become Lights, White Noise Sound (LP launch), Clara Brea, Addictive TV and more to be announced.

Organised in and around Convergence Festival, Noise of Art is also partnering with the Mayor of Paris, French Music Export Office, Institut Francais, Rough Trade East, The Wire, Heavenly Social, Big Chill House, Woodbridge Art and Music Event, Old Jet Studios and Adnams.

New show on Totally Radio w Gotan Project interview

This new installment of the series sees DJ Ben Osborne dropping the latest cosmic disco, glitched out funk and jackin’ beats from the likes of Munk, Chilly Gonzales and Fenech Solar.

The show also features an interview with Gotan Project founder Phillipe Cohen Solal, recorded earlier this year at MIDEM in Cannes.

Noise of Art brings new UFO show to Latitude Festival

Inspired by the 30th Anniversary of the UK’s most famous UFO incident at RAF Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1980, we’ve joined forces with Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich, to launch a spectacular immersive club event at Latitude on Friday 16 July.

Noise of Art’s new show, UFO: Rendlesham Incident, has a peak-time slot from midnight – 3am, where we’ll be bring some of London’s finest club acts and DJs to the festival’s Music and Film Arena on its opening night.

Expect a 360-degree performance of cosmic disco, surround visuals, space freaks and interactive performers. A one-off live cosmic super-group featuring My Toys Like Me, The 9000, We Are KAN’T and critically acclaimed DJs Severino and Ben Osborne will all be providing the interstellar soundtrack.

The event will be followed by an Alien Art Hunt at Latitude Festival on the Saturday and Sunday, featuring real artworks for finders to take home. Look out for details of the high profile and up and coming artists involved, and where the hunts will be. If in doubt, ask an alien.
