Noise of Art brings new UFO show to Latitude Festival
by Tom on Jun.25, 2010, under music, performance art
Inspired by the 30th Anniversary of the UK’s most famous UFO incident at RAF Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1980, we’ve joined forces with Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich, to launch a spectacular immersive club event at Latitude on Friday 16 July.
Noise of Art’s new show, UFO: Rendlesham Incident, has a peak-time slot from midnight – 3am, where we’ll be bring some of London’s finest club acts and DJs to the festival’s Music and Film Arena on its opening night.
Expect a 360-degree performance of cosmic disco, surround visuals, space freaks and interactive performers. A one-off live cosmic super-group featuring My Toys Like Me, The 9000, We Are KAN’T and critically acclaimed DJs Severino and Ben Osborne will all be providing the interstellar soundtrack.
The event will be followed by an Alien Art Hunt at Latitude Festival on the Saturday and Sunday, featuring real artworks for finders to take home. Look out for details of the high profile and up and coming artists involved, and where the hunts will be. If in doubt, ask an alien.

Slipped Disco returns to its old stomping ground in Brick Lane for a one-off Bank Holiday Special on Friday 28th May as Severino and Ben Osborne move their no holds barred Yes We KAN’T double act east for one night only.
Check out the image above from the last Yes We KAN’T session at Momo, where we had them dancing on the tables and up on the bar once again.
The party returns to Momo on Friday 11 June for a monthly residency with residents Severino and Ben Osborne. (Free but register by sending a guest list request to noiseofart@gmail.com) while Slipped Disco’s UFO next takes place at Big Chill House in Kings Cross on Friday 25th June.
More details of those events to follow, but we’ll see you at the Big Chill Bar off Brick Lane before any of that to kick-start the Bank Holiday weekend in true Yes We KAN’T style.

Yes We KAN’T at Momo: April 9th & 7 Hour set at BCH: April 16
by Tom on Mar.25, 2010, under clubs
Friday 16 April…
Will see Noise of Art founder Ben Osborne play a seven hour set upstairs at the Big Chill House in Kings Cross. Entry is free until 10pm and then it’s £5 (as long as it’s not full).
Friday 9 April…
Having everyone stomping on the bar may not always be the best way to guarantee your return to one of central London’s swankiest venues, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped the ultra fashionable Momo from inviting Severino and Ben back to spin back to back again.
Their last foray here caused sweet chaos as they mixed from everything to anything (Seventies funk rock to salsa to glitched disco, jiggy house, drum n bass and bin munching b-lines). Even the bouncers didn’t want ‘em to stop.

Ben Osborne (Slipped Disco’ UFO/ Noise of Art) and Severino (Horse Meat Disco/ Hyena Stomp) celebrate the onset of fashion week by pairing-up for night long session in the basement of this famously fashionable central London hang out. Live dance act KAN’T bring their improvised prog grooves to the dancefloor, which usually means setting themselves up on the dancefloor amongst the audience. The alley outside Momo is apparently where Bowie shot the cover for his Zigggy Stardust concept album. Making it a suitably prog-meets-glam location for tonight’s antics.
